Freight carriers handle the size and weight of shutter crates and deliver to your address with tracking and care.

Why freight instead of parcel

Standard parcel carriers are built for smaller boxes. Full-height shutters, patio door units, and specialty shapes (rounds, octagons, arches) typically exceed size or weight limits for parcel service. Freight shipping is designed for these dimensions: your order is crated, palletized or packaged for LTL (less-than-truckload) or dedicated freight, and shipped with a carrier that specializes in large, fragile, and high-value goods. That means fewer handoffs, better handling, and delivery to your door—or dock—instead of a last-mile compromise.

What to expect

When your order is ready to ship, we schedule pickup with our freight partner and send you tracking and contact information. Delivery is typically to the threshold of your home (or business); the driver will bring the shipment to the door. You do not need a loading dock. If you have stairs, a long driveway, or access restrictions, tell us when you order or when the carrier calls to schedule—we can note special instructions so the delivery can be planned accordingly.

Receiving your shutters

Inspect the crates or packaging at delivery. Note any visible damage on the delivery paperwork before signing. If anything looks damaged or missing, note it clearly and contact us with your order number and photos. Shutter Supplies crates shutters to protect them in transit; proper notation at delivery helps us resolve any freight claims quickly.

Freight transit times depend on your location and the carrier’s schedule. We build and ship from our Houston facility and will give you an estimated window when your order ships.
